SES to accumulate Intelsat in deal geared toward making a multi-orbit operator | IoT Now Information & Stories – Uplaza

SES and Intelsat have agreed that SES will purchase Intelsat by buying 100% of the fairness of Intelsat Holdings for US$3.1 billion. The mix will create a multi-orbit operator with larger protection, improved resiliency, an expanded suite of options and enhanced assets. The transaction, which is topic to related regulatory clearances, that are anticipated to be obtained in the course of the second half of 2025, is totally supportive of SES’s monetary coverage and is underpinned by anticipated complete synergies equal to 85% of the entire fairness worth of the transaction.

“This important, transformational agreement strengthens our business, enhances our ability to deliver world-class customer solutions, and generates significant value for our shareholders in a value accretive acquisition which is underpinned by sizeable and readily executable synergies,” stated Adel Al-Saleh, the CEO of SES. “In a fast-moving and competitive satellite communication industry, this transaction expands our multi-orbit space network, spectrum portfolio, ground infrastructure around the world, go-to-market capabilities, managed service solutions and financial profile.”
